Daily Yoga Classes
We are the largest provider of daily yoga classes in the area. Our quality classes are led by registered Yoga teachers who have been trained in various, well-respected styles, including: Anusara, Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Integral, Kripalu, Sonic, Tibetan Heart, and others. But while various lineages are represented, our classes feature universal principals of the ancient system of Yoga. Expect instruction in the following aspects:
Yoga Postures (Asana)
Breath Synchronized Movement (Vinyasa)
Breathwork (Pranayama)
Cleansing Practices (Kriyas)
Meditation
Chanting
Inner focus
Alignment techniques
Relaxation (Shavasana)
The main Asana portion of our Open Classes usually has a section that "flows". In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Sometimes this can be rigorous and demanding. Often, the Vinyasa Flow is designed to internally heat the body to help you achieve different states, and to help prepare you to move into certain postures with greater ease. Open Classes assume you to have some prior experience in Yoga, but adventurous beginners are always welcome. Whomever you are, we always say to leave your ego at the door. What another person is doing on their mat has nothing to do with us! You are safe and will be given proper instruction. We encourage people to own their own practice, and go at their own pace. Taking a time out in "child's pose" is always an option. Likewise, challenging ourselves to go right to our edge, or a little beyond it, can be liberating. You control the gas pedal.
Beginner Yoga Classes

Warning! Do not let the following limiting thoughts keep you from doing Yoga:
"I'm not flexible" -- You don't need to be flexible to begin to practice yoga. Start where you are. Believe us! MOST people can't wrap their leg behind their head; most can't touch their toes. It doesn't matter. Practice Yoga and you'll get more flexible.
"I can't sit still" -- Yoga helps train our minds to be more calm, but until that happens, rest assured there is a LOT more movement in class than sitting meditation.
"I tried it once and I didn't like it" -- The same could be said of a lot of things. We encourage you to take several classes before you make a decision that could, seriously, alter the course of your life.
"I'll look stupid" -- Nobody is watching you. People are a) kind and b) more concerned with their own practice than yours. Besides, you are Perfect, just the way you are. Really.
"I can't stand on my head" -- Very few start being able to do this. Maybe you'll learn this inversion, or another, one day when you're ready. Or maybe not. It's definitely not a pre-requisite.
